Interesting conversation a few days ago

Co-worker: How are you?
Me: Electrocuted. My foot, actually.

(Becker spilled a cup of water all over the cords to my lamp and fan and clock, which plug into an extension cord so it was like getting a socket wet. I knew it wasn't a good idea to touch it [shades of the circuit breaker box leaking in my old apartment and me touching it in wonder - is that WATER? - and getting shocked] so I folded a towel over it and then dried it with my foot, because it was much farther away from vital things than my hand. I still got a mild shock and my foot felt weird for days. It is better now. STILL.)

azzy books

Oh yes

I just read Almost Like Being in Love by... Steve Kluger, I think.

Well, maybe not, but it's abso-frickin'-lutely HILARIOUS, and it will cheer me up whenever I am the least bit sad merely by thinking about it. EVERYONE MUST READ IT. Even people who aren't like me and obsessed with gay boys, because 1. It will be funny anyway, I promise, and 2. I liked the straight romances it in JUST AS MUCH. That should tell you something. ^_-

WIP meme, for I am in a lemming-ish mood

If you happen to be working on some new writing project, fanfiction or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

I choose little snippets, so some are NOT exactly one sentence. Collapse )

And the sad part is, I have at least two more stories (specifically Berserker and The Beginning of All Knowledge) that don't have any lines written to them yet, so I can't quote them. >_> And of course there are others I have partially written or conceived that I don't have access to. But we'll stop here.
