Sometimes it amazes me - they come inside to play, and like, dude, I wouldn't have gone into strangers' houses at that age. They knock all the time, and sometimes we don't answer because we either don't want to deal with them (they will bug Becker till he starts warning) or we're tired/not dressed/having wild monkey sex. They've actually tried the door when we don't answer, and sometimes will attempt to walk in if we're outside with them. So not good. But I think they may be getting some manners from us too.
Anyway, today when I got home, they were waiting by my car. I wouldn't let them in, since Jess was sleeping, so I let Becker out and romped with them for awhile. Becker got sick of it eventually and hid in some bushes, and all but one of them ran off (the one being the one who is a little afraid of cats, although I think we're getting him over it). To get Becker back, I went inside and got some kitty treats, which Becker ran over for. The kid asked me for one, so I gave it to him, figuring he wanted to give Becker a treat.
He ate it.
I immediately checked the ingredients - good, mostly corn, nothing we don't eat. Still!
I asked him if it was good, and he was like, "Nuh-uh."
Anyway, since he's the quiet one, I let him in to play with the others. He's all fascinated with the fact that they can JUMP onto counters and how much of a pussy Aslan is. He plays with the kittens and holds Airashi and seems to be having fun, and is pretty good about hushing when I ask. I pull out the treats so he can give them to the cats, and he does. Then I get out these kitty breath mints we have, mainly because they're a lot smaller and easier for the kittens to eat, and there are like eighty times more of them. I hand them over.
He eats one of them too.
Ingredients check! No, they're fine too. He then gives them to the cats as well, and Becker's sniffing him like he's producing the treats out of his ass or something, and Tara's following him around, and it's generally rather amusing. Eventually I kick him out, but DAMN.
I'm glad I didn't poison the kid, but sheesh, who eats cat treats?
